Sitting atop the central reception, the Orchid Restaurant delivers local delights in both its menu and its view. Take a seat inside the burnished, wooden interior or on the wide balcony outside, as Mai Chau’s long-developed flavours match the appeal of stretching rice fields backed by a forested hill and a dramatic range of mountains. The restaurant offers set menu as well as à la carte options, covering dishes caught and grown at our doorstep. Stir-fried beef and clay pot chicken are specialties of the region, as is fish from the local rivers and delicious ethnic meals such as tom yum soup. Our garden outside provides the organic herbs and spices for everything in our restaurant.
The White Thai ethnic people are always proud of their earthy and tasty cuisine. Our Mai Chau Restaurant will bring you a quintessential fusion of Vietnamese traditional food and Thai tribal food. Most is served with fresh vegetables and herbs grown in our own gardens, ensuring you a healthy and delightful dining experience.
The two-storey Mai Chau Restaurant is perched on the highest point of our Ecolodge, offering panoramic view from every angle. The ground floor of this enormous stilt house is reserved for reception hall and lobby bar. The second floor is the dining centre which can accommodate up to 120 guests. The bar is also on this floor, bringing you the finest cocktails, wines and other drinks with cosy Thai tribal interiors, cool mountain breeze and magnificent view over lush rice fields and towering limestone peaks.
Few images are as iconic of Mai Chau Ecolodge as our swimming pool. The view from the restaurant above puts the shimmering pool in the foreground, mirroring the beauty of nature in a family-friendly space with plenty of room for our guests. Recline around the perimeter of the pool on cushioned sun loungers beneath palm-leaf parasols, and lose yourself in the still-life painting of Mai Chau’s natural splendour.
Beside the pool, a small, thatched hut stocks plenty of drinks to keep you refreshed throughout your languid day. Local beers go well with the scenery on show, while cocktails beneath the overhang of shady leaves add a touch of luxury to Mai Chau’s premier eco-accommodation.
Originally, it was long days in the rice fields that grew a necessity for local massage treatments. Ethnic Thai families shared their personal touches on herbal remedies, deep-tissue massages and foot scrubs, all of which now find a common home at Mai Chau Ecolodge.
Our redbrick spa welcomes up to 10 guests at a time with cool red tiles and comfortable massage beds. Local masseuses dip you into a world of soothing, tribal therapies and established local remedies, ensuring that your explorations around Mai Chau are rewarded in serene fashion.
