Water Pouring Season in Mai Chau – When the Valley Wears a New Skin
As the first rains of summer gently soak the Northwest mountains, Mai Chau enters one of its most vivid moments: the water pouring season. Lasting from late June to August, it marks the beginning of a new planting cycle – when nature and people together sow, nurture, and hope.
Unlike Mu Cang Chai or Sapa with layered rice terraces, Mai Chau charms with flat basin fields nestled in the heart of the valley. When water flows in, these fields become natural mirrors reflecting the sky – alive with every glistening puddle, fresh furrow, and the rhythmic motion of Thai farmers working the land.
