Between November 4th and 6th of this year, Mai Chau Ecolodge will be at stand AS560 at the World Travel Market in London, which exhibits the best of accommodation, tours and destinations in 2019. At the 3-day market, we will be connecting with travel enthusiasts and experts looking for the next big thing in the world of travel.

Here’s a little of what we’ll be exhibiting at WTM this year:

About Us

Asia Ecolodge offers forward-thinking and eco-friendly accommodation in Vietnam, ushering in a new, more conscious way of travel. With our 15 years of experience and our 2 luxury properties in Mai Chau Ecolodge and Can Tho Ecolodge, we have addressed the imbalance between business and environment caused by traditional travel, and have provided a solution that benefits not only guests, but nature, locals and the precious culture of our home.

Our first property, Mai Chau Ecolodge, opened in 2014 in the splendid green valley of Mai Chau, about 100km west of Hanoi. Can Tho Ecolodge followed in 2019, epitomising the rural beauty of the Mekong Delta in the deep south of Vietnam. Both accommodations offer an absorbing mix of 4-star comforts, secluded tranquillity, exquisite facilities and culture-soaked tours, workshops and activities, all for the progressive traveller with an eco-conscious mind.

Mai Chau Ecolodge

The heart of the pristine Mai Chau valley stands beautifully at the doorstep of Mai Chau Ecolodge. 21 bungalows containing 43 rooms look over the natural beauty on display, all from the vantage point of an elevated hill at the centre of Mai Chau. Each bungalow is built in the style of a traditional wooden stilt house, the emblematic homes of the Thai, who are the most prominent ethnic minority group of the valley. Guests of Mai Chau Ecolodge enjoy spacious rooms between 25m2 and 80m2, with ethnic heritage embedded in their traditional designs and serenity stretching out from private verandas.

Across the rest of the 17,400m2 property, nature abounds in lush gardens and orchards snaking throughout. The two-story restaurant offers delicious local food and outstanding panoramas of forested limestone mountains with swaying rice paddies at their feet. The swimming pool offers relaxation in front of deckchairs and palm leaf parasols, while the bar and spa do much the same.

Guests enjoy free use of bicycles and access to a great list of tours aiding them to discover the gorgeous ancient home of Mai Chau’s minority groups. Between trekking, cycling, farming, market and boat tours, as well as cooking and weaving workshops, our guests enjoy the full range of ways to explore the valley and a truly personal insight into indigenous local culture.

Can Tho Ecolodge

With Can Tho Ecolodge, we wanted to bring our ecological principles to the Mekong Delta, Vietnam’s oldest and most vulnerable ecosystem. Our 4-star property can be found on the outskirts of Can Tho, the heart of the delta and the country’s sixth-largest city. Specifically, the banks of the Ba Lang River and the verdant greenery surrounding it is where the 22,450m2 Can Tho Ecolodge finds its home.

12 thatched cottages on the property contain 48 rooms, each decked with elements of local décor and with an architecture evoking the pastoral atmosphere of the Mekong Delta. Private verandas look over tropical gardens, orchards and vegetable nurseries in the foreground, while the background extends to the Ba Lang River and the thick jungle beyond it. This is a view also enjoyed at the swimming pool, which features a separate kiddie and Jacuzzi pool and an adjoining bar.

Like with Mai Chau Ecolodge, Can Tho Ecolodge encourages guests to make free use of our bicycles, as the flat terrain around the delta makes for excellent cycling. Our tours utilise the same conditions on our own cycling tours and trekking tours, along with floating market tours, city tours of Can Tho and green-minded tours exclusive to our ecolodge. Our workshops teach ancient aspects of Mekong Delta life such as cooking, farming, woodcarving and massage.
