Mai Chau Ecolodge has more than 70 staff, 95% of whom at are local people including Thai, Dzao, H’Mong. They have a great passion of ecotourism. Mai Chau Ecolodge always takes its effort to create job and stable income for inhabitants who are living near Mai Chau Ecolodge.
The most difficult matter is to train working skill and foreign language for staff because most of them have never been joined in any courses before. This accelerates us to build up suitable training courses for staffs as well as seek a patient and enthusiastic teacher.
Following this desire, Board of Director of Mai Chau Ecolodge sent a respectful invitation to Prof.Mark Morgan - Associate Professor at University of Missouri to ask for his support to teach Mai Chau’staff in working skills and language. He is a specialist of nature and adventure travel in America with many years of experience in this field. This mission is always in the mind of investor and now the main task of investor is to create a product suitable for the philosophy of business, then to inspire all of Mai Chau staffs.
Prof. Mark Morgan supported Mai Chau Ecolodge in some works:
- Held a number of training courses and real situations in customer service relations of some parts such as the front office, restaurant, housekeeping
- Conducting a conversation to find out the needs and expectation of guest when staying at Mai Chau Ecolodge
- Give some proposal in respect of sustainable development and responsible tourism in Mai Chau Ecolodge.
Although Prof. Mark’s duration in Mai Chau lasted only one month, Mai Chau Ecolodge hopes that he inspired staff at Mai Chau Ecolodge to work more professional. They will pride themselves in doing eco- tourism. This pride will have effect on locals, tourists and each staff as they are doing a great mission.
